In 2002, Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Company made their Dublin debut with their triumphant production of Glengarry Glen Ross. The Festival is thrilled to welcome the company back with another contemporary classic of the American Theatre. Terrence McNally's Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune is a funny and moving modern
fairy tale set in a cramped apartment on Manhattan's West Side.

Frankie, a waitress, and Johnny, a short-order cook, have fallen into bed together at the end of their first date. No longer in the blossom of youth, and hardened by life's disappointments, they are unlikely candidates for a grand romance. Yet out of their seemingly mundane banter, something delicate and precious begins to emerge, which asks all the questions we are afraid to ask ourselves about love.

This acclaimed production brings together one of Steppenwolf's original ensemble members, Laurie Metcalf (best known for her three-time Emmy-winning role as Roseanne's sister on the long running hit sitcom) with its newest, Yasen Peyankov.
