“Inside there are two rooms. You are in one. Holding your dirty laundry. They are in the other. Waiting for you.”
Following the award-winning World’s End Lane, Laundry is the second instalment of a series of four site-specific works exploring the social history of a quarter mile area in Dublin’s North inner-city. In an Ireland whose collective consciousness is reeling from the exposition of institutions, the door to the Gloucester Street Magdalene Convent is opened and the audience is invited on a challenging, stimulating and thought-provoking journey.
Contains material that some may find disturbing. Contains nudity. This event is of a participatory nature and limited to 3 people per performance.
Laundry has been supported by Fishamble: The New Play Company’s New Play Clinic scheme, CREATE - Artists in the Community Scheme, and Rough Magic Hub. ANU Productions is in Six in the Attic – An Irish Theatre Institute resource sharing initiative.
PANEL DISCUSSIONS Access all Areas: Oct 15, 12pm, Project Arts Centre. Behind Closed Doors: Oct 5, 1pm, Project Arts Centre. For more information see Special Events
