Harlem Gospel Choir

Let your hair down and prepare to give thanks as New York's Harlem Gospel Choir visit the Festival for one night only!

The Choir was founded in 1986 and consists of 11 singers and musicians hand-picked from the black churches in Harlem. They were christened 'Angels in Harlem' by U2 and are fondly known as 'God's people from Harlem' by their many fans around the world.

As well as appearing with U2 on the video Rattle and Hum, they have performed for the Pope and Nelson Mandela. They aim to bring about a worldwide understanding of African American Culture as it relates to the Black Church and the inspirational music called Gospel. When not touring, the Choir performs every Sunday at BB King's Blues Club in New York City.
