Sharon's Grave

Following the critical success of its award-winning production of Sive last year, Druid continues its incisive exploration of the works of one of Ireland's most forthright, individualistic and controversial playwrights, John B. Keane.

Garry Hynes directs a stellar Irish cast of twelve in a major new production of what is arguably Keane's most mysterious and mystical play about the struggle between the forces of good and evil, and the mythical beliefs of 1930's rural Ireland.

This deeply lyrical folk play, set on an Atlantic headland at the mercy of wind and rain, tells the tale of Trassie Conlee's fight to protect both herself and her brother Neelus from the menace of her ruthless cousin Dinzie Conlee, one of Keane's most extraordinary, theatrical creations.

Sharon's Grave will be performed in the newly refurbished Gaiety Theatre.
