Pierre Cornielle wrote the theatrical Illusion in the mid-17th century. Peter Sheridan and the award-winning Charabanc are bringing it bang up to date. This play pokes fun at every convention under the sun. From the restrictions our codes of conduct impose upon us all, to the ridiculous leaps of faith and imagination demanded from play-goers in this computer-simulated age. Nothing is sacred. In this showpiece, 10th Anniversary Year production, Charabanc presents an evening of pure theatrical delight. Song, wit and imagination abound in this upfront comedy with a sting. Mistaken identity, twarted love, music and magic - The Illusion has it all. Follow Mrs. Maggie McCrea 's desperate attempt to contact and control her long lost, unruly daughter. Will Olocher's magic powers reveal more than Mrs. McCrea, or the audience, bargain for? A celebratory show for everyone everywhere.
