09 Cet Enfant L

One of the most talked-about plays in France in recent years, this profoundly moving show explores the emotional ties - from the noblest to the most shameful - that bind parents and their children together.

Inspired by real interviews, 11 touching vignettes reveal the depth and complexity of our relationships with those who are supposed to know and love us best. Staged with a restrained simplicity with original music performed live onstage, this elegant production focuses all of the attention on the truly remarkable talents of a great company of actors.

Working together for many years this outstanding ensemble have developing a unique repertoire of plays written and directed by Joël Pommerat, winner of the French Critic’s prize and one of the most significant artists to emerge from France in recent years.

Cet Enfant is a co-production with L’Espace Malraux-Scène nationale de Chambéry et de la Savoie; Théâtre Brétigny-Scène conventionnée du Val d’Orge; la Ferme de Bel Ebat du Guyancourt; Théâtre de la Coupe d’Or - Scène conventionnée de Rochefort; and Théâtre Paris-Villette.

Performed in French with English surtitle.

It will blow you away because of the integrity of the vision, the sincerity with which it is delivered, and the sheer force of the talent onstage.
