La Omision De La Familia Coleman (The Family Coleman's Omission) is a comic and absurd study of an unconventional family on the verge of breakup that gives voice to the many eccentricities of contemporary Argentinean society. Three generations of Colemans live together in a house where violence is regarded as normal and the bizarre is ignored by all. Illness and death is the trigger for change... but does anybody notice except those left behind?

Developed through improvisations with a remarkable company of actors, the show was first performed in the writer/director's apartment, where the audience was ushered quietly into the living room so as not to alert the real neighbours next door. The play's enormous success has since blown their cover - it has become one of the biggest successes in recent Argentinean theatre.

Recipient of numerous Argentinean Critics (ACE) Awards including Best Play, Best Direction, Best Lead Actress and Best Lead Actor, La Omision De La Familia Coleman opens this year's Latin American programme at the Pavilion Theatre.

Performed in Spanish with English surtitles

“This exceptional Argentine dark comedy is theatre of the absurd at its best... It will continue to live in the memory of any audience member who sees it.” La Prensa
