YOung at Heart Show Image
The Young@Heart Chorus is one of the unlikeliest success stories in world theatre. This extraordinary 28-strong company from Northampton, Massachusetts, who range in age from 72 to 88, have taken festivals all over the world by storm, and turned rock ‘n roll on its head in the process.
This life-enhancing company take the music of their children and grandchildren’s generation, and sing it like you’ve never heard sung it before. From The Beatles and The Rolling Stones to Radiohead and OutKast, they dispel the myth that the ‘golden years’ are spent gardening, playing bingo, and sitting quietly in a corner.
Designed and directed by No Theater, an experimental theater company based in Young@Heart's hometown, Road to Nowhere was the Winner of the 2006 TMA Best Musical Production award for its extended run at London's Lyric Hammersmith. This new show asks the question, "Will I be working until the day I die?"
“The audience's emotions are constantly shifting from tears to outright guffaws, which is in part what makes the experience so moving” Time magazine
What Do We Think?
