Ute Lemper Tilt

Ute Lemper's performing career grows out of a passionate and enduring commitment to art, politics and history. Her panache, versatility and sophisticated repertoire - including her own material, Berlin cabaret songs and the dark gems of Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill - have led her to international acclaim as a recording artist and in the theatre, cabaret and film worlds.

She is the closest one can come to a living Marlene Dietrich. Nick Cave and Tom Waits have written songs for her, and she was recently crowned by Time Out New York as the best cabaret singer of 2005. Some will remember Ute Lemper from Pink Floyd's production of The Wall in Berlin, but her great international breakthrough came with her starring role in the musical Chicago in London.

Along with her four-piece band, Ute presents a musical journey through the world and time, starting and ending in Berlin.
