Festen Tilt

During a weekend in the country, a successful businessman is surrounded by his family and friends, gathered together to celebrate his landmark 60th birthday. But as the evening progresses, instead of the joyous celebration expected, the party uncovers an untold mystery, revealing a dark family secret that can no longer be concealed. An enthralling tale told with dark humour and moments of riveting suspension, the birthday celebration is one this family will never forget.

Based on the widely acclaimed Dogme film and play by Thomas Vinterberg, Mogens Rukov and Bo hr. Hansen, Festen is a dramatisation by David Eldridge.

Directed by Selina Cartmell (Irish Times Theatre Award for Best Director in 2005), Costumes and Set Designed by Giles Cadle (Lawrence Olivier Award for Best Set Design 2005)

The Gate Theatre Production of Festen is presented by kind arrangement with Marla Rubin Productions ltd.
