Niall Tobin makes his long-awaited return to the Irish stage as Sylvie in Jim Nolan's hear-warming drama. Salvage shop owner, ageing bandmaster, and opera buff Sylvester Tansey is haunted by personal betrayal and the memory of a glorious past and won't let go of the baton. His son, Eddie, euphonium player in exile, evokes the intervention of the great Luciano Pavarotti, as he struggles to forge a reconciliation with his father. The Salvage Shop floor becomes the crucible in which public and personal  redemptions are sought and ultimately found.

The Dublin Theatre Festival in association with Noel Pearson and Gaiety Stage Productions present the Red Kettle Theatre Company's productions of The Salvage Shop.

"Passionate and compassionate, startlingly optimistic....a powerful tapestry of small town lives"
The Sunday Independent

"A richly layered drama, to be stored in the memory and revisited time and again to retrieve its subtle wisdom" The Irish Times
