Hoipolloi (UK)

Hoipolloi’s shows celebrate the imagination, taking audiences into fantastical worlds unbound by reality. Their work is playful, theatrical, physical and funny. It is energetic, colourful and larger-than-life.
It reaches out beyond the stage, engaging the audience directly, telling them stories which entertain, whilst playfully challenging their sense of reality.
Since the company was founded in 1994 by Shôn Dale-Jones (Artistic Director) and Stefanie Müller (Associate Director) Hoipolloi have created 17 new shows.
The company tours extensively throughout the UK and continues to grow its international presence, visiting locations as diverse as London’s Barbican Centre, Sydney Opera House, the National Museum of Singapore and UCLA in Los Angeles, as well as festivals in Bogotá, Helsinki, Moscow and Tasmania.
Hoipolloi has received 3 Total Theatre Award nominations; a nomination for Best Actor from The Stage Awards, as well as winning a Total Theatre Award for Floating (2006) and a Scotsman Fringe First award for Story of a Rabbit (2007).
