Pan Pan (Ireland)


PAN PAN was founded in 1991 by director Gavin Quinn and designer Aedín Cosgrove. The company has developed an individual aesthetic that has grown from working in theatre over the last 17 years, exploring new forms, approaches, and experiments with time, space, music, and performance. Pan Pan creates and produces contemporary live performances in a variety of locations and situations both in Ireland and further afield. Recent international touring (2007/2008) includes: PS122 New York; Wexner Center for the Arts, Columbus, Ohio; Hebbel am Ufer, (Hau 2) Berlin; FFT Düsseldorf; Hamburg Schauspielhaus; Euro-Scene, Leipzig; Auawirleben, Berne; Espoo, Helsinki; Recto Verso, Quebec City; High Performance Rodeo, Calgary; also on the Canadian tour performances in Banff, Lethbridge, Edmonton; and performances in Beijing (2006/2008) and Shanghai (2008). Pan Pan also founded and produced five editions of the Dublin International Theatre Symposium (1997–2003), a program of talks, workshops, demonstration performances, and full performances delivered by leading contemporary theatre companies from fourteen different countries. Touring repertoire includes: The Crumb Trail (text by Gina Moxley, premiered Düsseldorf, Nov 2008); Oedipus Loves You (by Gavin Quinn & Simon Doyle, 2006); MacBeth7 (2004); stage adaptation of von Trier’s The Idiots (Dublin Theatre Festival 2007).
