Footsbarn (France)


Footsbarn is widely regardded as Europe's pre-eminent Travelling Theatre, with nine different nationalities integrated into the group. Since leaving England in 1981, Footsbarn has presented 10 different productions in 21 countires - over 1600 performances. The company last appeared in Dublin at the 1990 Irish Life Dublin Theatre Festival in A Midsummer Night's Dream. Since 1990, Footsbardn has been permanently based in the middle of France. Herisson is a small village in the Auvergne, a village which resembles the group's origins in Cornwall. The farm bought by Footsbarn is being developed into a centre of activites that relate to the theatrical research the group has undertaken since its formation in 1971.
