Michael Keegan Dolan

Since 1997 Michael Keegan-Dolan has written, directed, choreographed and co-produced five productions for his Irish-based company, Fabulous Beast Dance Theatre: Sunday Lunch, Fragile, The Flowerbed, The Christmas Show and Giselle.

His extensive choreography for Opera include Macbeth (Royal Opera House) Pique Dame (Bayerische Staatsoper), Love for Three Oranges (Cologne Opera), Manon (English National Opera, Dallas Opera and Houston Grand Opera), Ariodante (Bayerische Staatsoper; Munich, English National Opera, Houston Grand Opera and the BBC), Idomeneo (De Vlaamse Opera, Belgium) and Alcina (English National Opera).

Other choreographic credits include Flex directed by Chris Cunningham (The Royal Academy of Arts), Ephemera (Scottish Ballet), The Ash Girl by Timberlake Wertenbaker (Birmingham Rep), Orange Concerto (Millennium Dance), various new works for British Gas Ballet Central and English National Ballet's Education Unit (including National Tours), Farmyard Fantasia (Channel 4), Sir Peter Hall's Oedipus Plays (Royal National Theatre and Epidavros Amphitheatre, Greece). He also completed the choreography of Carousel at the Royal National Theatre following the death of Sir Kenneth MacMillan in 1992.

As a dancer he has performed at The Royal National Theatre, with The Kosh, Pilobolus Dance Theatre, Royal Opera Ballet, English National Opera, and as 'Dream Curley' in the UK tour of Oklahoma, choreographed on him by Lar Lubovitch. 

Future projects include a revival of The Flowerbed at the Barbican; making his directorial debut in Opera with Jenufa for English National Opera; and a new work for Rambert Dance Company.
