Stephen has worked extensively at the Dublin Gate Theatre, appearing in such roles as Marlow in She Stoops to Conquer, Lucky in Waiting for Godot, Elliot in Private Lives, Serge in Art, Fagin in Oliver Twist, Sydney Carton in A Tale of Two Cities, Oberon / Theseus in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Mr. D'Arcy in Pride and Prejudice, Mr. Rochester in Jane Eyre, Henry Higgins in Pygmalion, Henry in The Real Thing, and Gary Essendine in Present Laughter and Uncle Ben in Death of a Salesman.
Film/Television His most recent TV appearance was as Sir John Seymour in The Tudors, and as Harry Donovan in The Clinic. Films include: The Boys from Clare; The General; Little People; Conspiracy of the Rings; A Piece of Monologue and Waiting for Godot for the Beckett on Film Project and Eat the Peach.
