Hilary Fannin

Hilary was born in Dublin and worked as an actor throughout the 1980s and 1990s.  Mackerel Sky, her first play, was produced at the Bush Theatre, London in 1997, and at Garter Lane, Waterford, and Schauspiel Bonn Germany. Writing credits since then include: Sleeping Around (a collaboration with Mark Ravenhill), Donmar Warehouse, London and on tour. Doldrum Bay, Abbey Theatre Dublin. La Licorne, Montreal Red Ball, Abbey Theatre Dublin-outreach/education.
For BBC Radio 4 – Time It Was, Red Feathers, Dear Exile, and Drop Zone.
For RTE Radio-Dead Sea Salt Bake.
Hilary was made writer in association to the Abbey Theatre for their centenary year.
She wrote a weekly television review column for The Irish Times newspaper for five years, finishing at Christmas 2009, she remains a regular contributor to the paper.
 Her work has been published by Methuen, translated into several languages and performed in Europe and South America. She lives in Dublin with her husband and their two sons, Peter and Jacob.
