Danuta Stenka

Danuta Stenka graduated from Acting School at the Wybrzeze Theatre in Gdansk. She is a member of the ensemble of the National Theatre in Warsaw since 2003 and makes guest appearances at other theatres, including TR Warszawa.
Her theatre credits include productions by Grzegorz Jarzyna at TR Warszawa: Thomas Vinterberg’s and Mogens Rukov’s The Celebration (2001), Neil LaBute Bash (2004), 2007: Macbeth based on Shakespeare (2005), Giovanni based on Mozart's Don Giovanni and Molière's Don Juan (2006), T.E.O.R.E.M.A.T. based on the work of Pier Paolo Pasolini (2009); Krzysztof Warlikowski's productions of Sophocles’ Electra (1997), Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew (1998), Hanoch Levin’s Krum, Tony Kushner’s Angels in America,(A)pollonia (2009); Lady from the Sea based on Susan Sontag directed by Robert Wilson (2005) and, for the National Theatre, Moliere’s Tartuffe directed by Jaques Lassalle (2006), Anton Chekhov’s Ivanov directed by Jan Englert (2008), Fedra based on Eurypides, Seneca and Enquist (2006) and Peter Weiss's Marat/Sade (2009), both directed by Maja Kleczewska.
She appeared in many films, e.g. A Gentle Woman directed by Mariusz Trelinski (1995), Chopin – the Desire of Love directed by Jerzy Antczak (2000), Lovers from Marona (directed by Izabella Cywinska) and Andrzej Wajda’s Oscar-nominated Katyn (2007).
She is winner of prestigious “Polityka” Passport and Aleksander Zelwerowicz Actors’ Award.
