Henri Chassé

 

Native from Outaouais, Henri Chassé has been an actor since 1980, working on several productions of the Théâtre du Nouveau Monde, among others, La Petite pièce en haut de l’escalier by Carole Fréchette, La Mouette , La Fausse SuivanteLe Songe d’une nuit d’été and L'Odyssée by Alexis Martin and Dominic Champagne. His contribution to the success of the followings theatre pieces should also be mentioned: Silence en coulisses! at the Vieux Terrebonne Theatre, Oncle Vania and Faits pour s’aimer with the Compagnie Jean-Duceppe, Août - Un repas à la campagne by Jean Marc Dalpé at the Théâtre de la Licorne, Maîtres anciens by the Théâtre Ubu and recently, Lortie by Pierre Lefebvre with the Nouveau Théâtre Expérimental and Réveillez-vous et chantez by Clifford Odets for the Théâtre de l’Opsis.

On the big screen, Henri Chassé participated notably in Post Mortem by Louis Bélanger and Congorama by Philippe Falardeau. In 2002, he was awarded the Prix Gémeaux for best actor in a leading role for Louis in Le Monde de Charlotte, a role he will take on again in the dramatic television series Un Monde à part.

He is part of Poésie, sandwichs et autres soirs qui penchent led by Loui Maufette, and, as an actor and poet, he was invited several times to the Festival international de poésie of Trois-Rivières.

He contributed to numerous volumes of the literary periodical Exit and wrote two collections, Secrets Blanchis (2003) and Morceaux de tempête (2008) published by Les Écrits des Forges.
