Kris Stone

Kris Stone's designs have been seen throughout the United States and Europe in over 100 productions and she was recently selected to represent the U.S. in Stage Design at the upcoming Prague Quadrennial for her work on Equivalents (Project Arts Centre, Dublin) and also for Iphigenia At Aulis (The San Jose Rep).
Previous work with The Corn Exchange includes Dublin By Lamplight (Dublin, Edinburgh & tours), Lolita (The Abbey Theatre, Dublin) and Mud (The Project Arts Centre, Dublin).


Recent designs include Private Lives (The Long Wharf Theatre, CT), Brundibar the Sendak/Kushner opera (New Vic in NYC, Berkley Rep, plus tours), the recent Human Festival (The Actors Theatre of Louisville), and The Underpants (The Alliance, Atlanta).


Upcoming designs include a new play called Expecting Isabel (The Asolo Theatre festival in Florida), As You Like It (California Shakespeare Theatre), a new production of Don Giovanni (The Florentine Opera, Milwaukee), I am My Own Wife (Hartford Stage, Connecticut), and Pick Up Ax (San Jose Rep).


Kris was recently honored with a Bay Area Critics Award plus a nomination for a Connecticut Critics Circle Award for her design of Brundibar. Other awards include: The TCG/NEA Award for set design, the award for "Best Scenic Design 2004 - 2005" by Philadelphia Weekly, and the Oenslagger Award for Excellence in Stage Design at the Yale School of Drama.
