Olwen Fouéré

Olwen most recently appeared as Ness in A Cry from Heaven directed by Olivier Py at the Abbey Theatre, where she has played several major roles including Hester Swane in the world premiere of By the Bog of Cats and the title role in The Mai.

She has performed extensively at the Gate Theatre, Dublin, where she created the role of Salome in Steven Berkoff's production of Wilde's Salome, which toured internationally.  She has played several major theatre roles in the UK with the Royal National Theatre, the RSC, ESC and the role of Rosaura in Life is a Dream directed by Calixto Bieito at the Edinburgh Royal Lyceum, Barbican and BAM ('98-'99).

She is an Artistic Director of Operating Theatre, whose most recent work includes Here Lies (Galway Arts Festival 2005) and Passades (2004). She also appears in several pieces by the artist James Coleman which continue to be exhibited internationally.
