Pierre Bernier

Pierre Bernier is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist from Québec City. For over twenty years, he has been taking part in numerous mime festivals and touring regularly, notably with the Jeunesse Musicales of Canada. In 1978, this cycling fanatic developed a solo show called Homo Velox, which focused on the human capacity to generate speed without using electricity or motors. In 1993, he was an artist in residence at the Sztuki Museum in Lodz, Poland, with his performance Museovelo.

For several years, he has worked as assistant director for Robert Lepage, mainly for the stage production Elsinore. Recently, he created a show called Piero Velo, which offers a singing and miming tour of the history of cycling, using songs written since 1869 on the theme of cycling.
